Last night I won the ‘Best Projected Image of 2013’ in C Grade at the North Shore Photographic Society end-of-year meeting!
At the end of the year they ask members to submit up to 4 photographs that have done well over the year, to be considered for the prizes of best projected image and best printed image for each of the 3 grades, C, B and A. New members start in C grade until 6 of their submitted pictures have been given Honours.
This was the image that won me the prize:
The judge for the evening commented that he chose it primarily because of the strong textures and good composition. The picture was taken in the Waitakeres, I almost walked past the tree, but the colour contrast and the textures were just too strong for me to ignore it – luckily 🙂
